A loving start in your new home

Our practical guide to helping your Royal Purr kitten settle in comfortably.

Food & fresh water

Keep your kitten on the familiar diet initially. We commonly recommend Royal Canin kitten biscuits and wet food, with plain boiled chicken breast as an occasional addition. Introduce any new foods gradually and provide fresh water at all times.

Litter & toileting

Our kittens are introduced to litter trays before collection. We recommend Fit Litter silica and a quiet, easy-to-access tray. Avoid automatic litter boxes for very young kittens; always follow the manufacturer's age and weight guidance.

A gentle first week

Prepare a quiet room with food, water, a bed, scratching post and litter tray. Allow your kitten to explore at their own pace, supervise introductions to children and other pets, and keep play gentle.

Health & safety

Keep up with your veterinarian's vaccination, parasite prevention and check-up schedule. Secure windows, remove toxic plants and hazards, and seek veterinary advice promptly if your kitten seems unwell.
